FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why does my Rose Water not impart a lasting fragrance? Why does it not smell like a perfume?
Most of us are used to our favorite drug store skin care products that smell amazing. Some of them smell like perfumes. The reason why is that most of these products are blended with aromatic extracts that can be a combination of a lot of synthetic constituents that can replicate the smell of a natural ingredient. Unfortunately, these synthetic and artificial substitutes can trigger a lot of irritants, like redness, bumps and sometimes, acne. These products contain tons of allergens that could cause a lot of skin problems, specially to sensitive skin. They are also loaded with toxic chemicals that are potentially carcinogenic.
100% Pure, organic, natural skin care products, like Anthroposophe's and other pure flower distillate contribute scents too. Some far stronger than others. However, it is important to note that this rose water is fragrance-free.
Fragrance- free does not mean that the rose water does not impart any smell; it does. It gives off the natural scent of what a bouquet of roses would smell like - roses. It also means that the Anthroposophe Rose Water you are buying does not have any artificial or synthetic fragrances. Expectations are high, as people are looking forward to the usual, sweet, floral, romantic and deep fruity fragrances.
As we do not have any scented additives to our rose water, the scent of our product is subtle and sometimes smells like you are passing through a garden of roses: rain, notes of fresh tea, an aromatic anise-like scent, also a strong old rose scent featuring notes of plums. All of these are not comparable to artificial, synthetic, rose fragrances we were used to smell.
Why Use Organic/Non-Toxic Products?
The average adult is exposed to 168 hazardous chemicals each day. Chemicals such as phthalates, mineral oils, sodium lauryl sulphate, propylene glycol, and parabens, are all commonly used in cosmetics and body care products, and are known carcinogens or toxins that affect the immune, reproductive, and endocrine systems.
Your skin absorbs things easily. Anything that is applied to the skin - such as moisturizers, lipsticks, deodorants, and other cosmetics are absorbed into the body and into the blood stream just as if you’d eaten it.
Infertility is rising in women under the age of 25. A major study found that pregnant women and women of child-bearing age are at greater risk for infertility and reproductive problems as result of exposure to certain common chemical ingredients.
Cancer, autism, and birth defect rates are really high and growing. Numerous reports have proven that it’s due to the huge number of toxins that we’re exposed to on a daily basis from cosmetic and personal care products.
Most chemicals have not undergone any safety testing. Of the more than 10,000 chemical ingredients in cosmetic and personal care products less then 10% have actually been tested. And of those that have been tested virtually none have been banned. The FDA has only restricted 9 ingredients in 67 years.
Unborn babies have been found to carry hundreads of chemicals. Laboratory tests have detected as many as 232 chemicals in newborns which were tested through an umbilical cord blood study. This report has produced hard evidence that children are being exposed, beginning in the womb, to complex mixtures of dangerous substances that may have lifelong consequences.
Low doses matter. Exposure to chemicals is cumilative and "adds up" over time exponentially with exposures to other toxics in food we eat, water we drink, and the air we breathe.
Organic products just work better. Non toxic skin care products are more effective simply because they are made with ingredients that don't disrupt your body's natural state. Since what you put on your skin will end up in your body, treat your body well and you will feel and look your best.

What is Organic?
Organic is a labeling term that indicates that the food or other agricultural product has been produced through approved methods.
These methods integrate cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. Synthetic chemicals, fertilizers and genetic engineering may not be used.
Is it USDA Certified Organic?
Yes, Anthroposophe Rose Water is USDA Certified Organic. It was given in December 2015 by CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers.) Acquiring a certification is a rewarding effort but not an easy task. It starts from scouting the elusive rose farms in Isparta, Turkey which hold USDA/ ECOCERT certifications. These farms do not use any chemicals and pesticides that could harm the environment and the farmers. Second step is finding a distillation facility holding the same organic certifications. They have to be inspected by ECOCERT each year to ensure that the equipments are sterilized and harmful chemicals are used to clean the facility. The next step is store the distilled rose water in an organic certified storage facility. They aslo conduct inspections annually to ensure that the facility is clean and climate controlled. Lastly, the rose water is shipped to our packaging facility in Los Angeles, California in industrial grade drums, tightly sealed which no smoke or any pollutants can penetrate. Our bottling facility has to hold the same USDA certification and keep the same standards of the certifying agents- sterilized, chemical-free, climate controlled and responsible.
Why USDA Certified Organic products cost more?
Organic producers, as compared to conventional growers face more challenges and restrictions and have higher costs associated with maintaining and growing an organic crop. Organic farms are usually smaller than conventional farms, as a result, do not benefit from the economies of scale enjoyed by larger farms.
HOW LONG DOES MY ROSE WATER LAST?
From the time of purchase, it should last for one year if stored properly and until six months after you open the bottle. We would like to keep a longer shelf life, however, our rose water does not include any alcohol or preservatives. We intentionally skip this step so that we keep the purity of our product. Alcohol can cause dryness to skin and it can counter the natural benefits of rose water. We assure you that our rose water is always fresh and are distilled right after the flowers are harvested.
HOW DO I STORE MY ANTHROPOSOPHE ORGANIC ROSE WATER?
Store it in a cool, dark, dry place. Your bathroom cabinet is good place to keep it. Some people like to store it in their refrigerator, as it provides a refreshing skin treatment, especially in the summer. Cooled rose water provides a precious jolt of a chill that will awaken the senses, tighten pores, and refresh your makeup.
Is it suitable for all skin types?
Yes, our rose water is 100% pure and organic and we believe it is safe to use for all skin types, even for sensitive skin.
